chaska photographer| family & fireworks Chaska Photographer | The 4th of July was always one of my favorite holidays growing up. And, now it’s a favorite for my family! This was by far the best 4th holiday we’ve had. This year the kids were old enough to do a little more than in years past. We are able to cut the naps a little shorter. And, the littles stayed awake a little later. They were even allowed to watch the entire fireworks show. That was a first for both girls. Too bad no one slept in on the fifth! We usually visit the local Chanhassen fair. This year, the popular event, A Taste of Minnesota was held close to home. So we gave it a visit instead. The kids loved the carnival rides and getting a “taste of Minnesota.” Both girls rode ponies. There was even a petting zoo! We wrapped up with some quintessential fair fare, cotton candy and snow cones. After the “taste,” the kids took power naps. Then, I painted my girls’ faces (a tradition on the 4th). Welcome to week 44 of my 365 project! I continued to experiment with my macro lens this week, BUT that’s not what I’m sharing this week! I’ll share those images in another post 😉 I found that after taking so many photos of things, I began to miss capturing my family! So, in-between images of butterflies and flowers, and bugs, I really worked to capture my family’s everyday. So, I am sharing (ok, over-sharing just a teensy bit) just the family shenanigans this week. Enjoy! Minnetonka Lifestyle Newborn Photographer | Bringing home baby C

I met this handsome, sweet guy during his fresh 48 session, then saw him again a week later for his lifestyle newborn session. His doting big sister couldn’t have been more enamored, and I’m pretty sure that his big brother can’t wait to play 🙂 Mom and Dad seemed to be settling into being a family of five like old pros.

I’m back to share another week in photos! If I’m being honest, I have wanted to throw in the towel so many times on this project…like when I was overwhelmed with sessions, when I was feeling discouraged about my work (several times over), when I forgot to shoot for a few days in-a-row (also several times over), and even now, when the shorter days and bitter cold have made shooting outside extremely challenging.
