Waconia Birth Photographer
I was talking to a friend a couple years ago about her experience with water birth. I was totally fascinated. I shared how much I would love the opportunity to photograph a water birth-or any birth for that matter. Not long after that, that same friend asked me if I was still thinking about birth photography because….she was expecting! I told her I was 100% on board!
The day (or rather wee hours of the morning) finally arrived. The M family contacted me around 2:00 am on December 26th on their way to the hospital. I arrived at Ridgeview Waconia’s beautiful birthing center around 3:00 am. I met the Ms in a dim, candle-lit room. My friend was nearing the final stage of labor, her supportive hubby by her side.
Just a short 30 minutes later, a healthy and precious baby boy made his peaceful entrance into this world.
I was in complete awe of this momma! She remained peaceful and strong throughout her labor. Part of me wanted to burst into tears from the beauty of it all, and part of me wanted to jump up and down cheering for my rockstar friend.
Despite my own flood of emotions, I managed to pull myself together and click away. I stayed to capture those first moments that we as mothers often miss as we’re recovering from child birth….baby’s first cries, his weight and measures.
I must extend a huge thank you to the M Family for allowing me to be present during such a beautiful and personal experience. I loved every minute! Congrats, y’all! And, enjoy snuggling your precious baby boy <3
