Chaska Lifestyle Newborn Photographer
Photographing new families in the comfort of their home is possibly my favorite part of the job. It could be because I myself am a bit of a homebody. I feel more comfortable in cozy clothes and bare feet than dressed “to the nines” and in a new environment. It could be that I remember back to those first days at home with my first born. True confession, if someone had expected me to leave the house showered AND with clean clothes and make-up on, I probably would have laughed, or more realistically, cried, in their face. So, I salute these new parents. And, I am just amazed over and over again at capturing them as they take in all that is their newborn baby.
What is equally amazing is how fast these little babes grow. Those once wrinkly, peeling, tightly-clenched fists give way to big, strong, independent hands. Those gummy smiles turn into bright toothy smiles. Those cries and gurgles become babbles and first words in the blink of an eye. And, that baby smell fades away.
ALL of this is why I find it so very important and so rewarding to document these days!
These two parents could not have been any more proud of or in love with their little man. I couldn’t get over his full head of dark hair and all of his reflexive smiles! I seriously have never seen a newborn “smile” so much! Needless to say, I loved every minute of documenting this new life 🙂
